The New Year Ushers In Change -- whether we like it or not.

"Thus says the Lord, 'Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls. ..." Jeremiah 6:16

We have been struggling spiritually for months, if not a couple years due to obstacles that have fallen into our walk with God. The struggle was not in our belief of God but how those around us that we thought were godly let us down by their actions or even inaction. Specifically in the last 3 months, as a couple, we have realized that we were looking in the wrong place. While we do need fellowship with other believers and we do need accountability, our focus should be on the Lord. This change has brought on a maturity that neither me or the mister had before.

We now know that this maturity was grown for such a time as this. In our lives, due to actions of others, things are changing. I am grateful to say that instead of having a knee-jerk reaction we are focusing on God and praying. We may not like the change, but we can not help but believe that "all things will work together for good to those who love God. (Romans 8:28)"

Now is a time of praying and focusing on God. Now is the time to immerse ourselves in the Word of the Lord and put or faith in God, not man. Now is the time to make sure we are being faithful to our commitment with God.

  1. I know the pain and struggle that is caused by "godly" individuals who let us down. We have been "recovering" from such events for over five years now, and I still feel the daily effects of it when I see my husband's spiritual disinterest. I pray that God would be your focus as you seek to grow in His grace during this time of healing. May you remember that it was not Him who let you down!

  2. Thank you Ashley. We have had an ongoing struggle with the 'godly' people that have let us down for a while. And with us it is my husband that concerns me. We do agree that the focus has to be on God from now on no matter what. I am so grateful that our maturity has allowed us to see that the let down is from mere people and not God. The realization also comes to are we doing the same thing? Makes ya think. Thank you for stopping by!
